(AllHipHop News) Kanye West and Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi recruited Tyrone “Ty Dolla Sign” Griffin Jr. for the Kids See Ghost track “Freeee (Ghost Town, Pt. 2).” However, another artist says the record ripped off his work.
According to reports, Ronald Oslin Bobb-Semple is suing West, Mescudi, Griffin, Def Jam Recordings, and Universal Music Group. The Guyana-born actor/performer claims his vocals from a presentation titled “The Spirit of Marcus Garvey” were used on 2018’s Kids See Ghost without compensation.
Bobb-Semple is seeking unspecified damages and an injunction that would prevent the defendants from profiting off “Freeee (Ghost Town, Pt. 2).” The song is a sequel to Kanye’s “Ghost Town” off the Ye LP.
Kids See Ghosts debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart with 142,000 album-equivalent units. “Freeee (Ghost Town, Pt. 2)” peaked at #62 on the Hot 100 chart.
